Umm Salal coach Sergio Farias spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 6 match against Qatar SC.

“We are expecting a difficult clash against a good side. Winning points is important to us at this stage. We will play for points, especially since my team is well rested and we prepared well during the break.

“Winning is important and we have been training with the aim of achieving victory but we also know this does not always happen. My technical staff has studied the way Qatar SC play and we have developed the appropriate strategy to confront them. The players have the desire to go and get the points. We have talked with the players about the importance of the match and we have prepared them accordingly.

“I have in my mind my playing XI that I know is capable of winning the match. Rest assured, I will choose the best squad to play this match because Qatar SC also seek to win points. Both teams are on equal points and want to pass each other. I want to see the best performance from my players,” said Farias.

Umm Salal player Abdulrahman Raafat said, “We, the players, know that they are entering the match against Qatar SC with strength and good preparation. We seek to achieve our first victory. We have the ambition and desire to win this match. There is great enthusiasm among the players.

“We have respect for the opponents because they are a strong team. But at the same time, we are confident of our own abilities.”
