Al Duhail coach Luis Castro spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 6 match against Al Rayyan.

“Al Rayyan are a good team with outstanding players. They also have a good coach and the match will be very strong. For us, the challenge is great and we must do our best on the field.

“Some of our players, such as Almoez Ali, Bassam Al Rawi and Karim Boudiaf, suffer from fatigue after their return from the national team and we are used to these absences, which made us constantly change the squad.

“We have to work on the recovery of the players and we are very interested in this part, especially the tired players. We know Al Rayyan players well, but I want to say to the fans that we must focus on the game. Our team includes players at the highest level in all departments and therefore we focus on working with our team,” said Castro.

Al Duhail player Michael Olunga said, “We are ready to continue presenting our good performances and achieve the desired results.

“It will be a good match against Al Rayyan and there will be many factors of excitement on the field. We are preparing for this match like other matches and we know our goal, which is to win the three points. The return of international players to the squad will have a good impact on the team’s performance.

“I am working to help my team, whether by scoring or passing to my team-mates to score, and everyone is working to get the points.”
