Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 13 match against Al Arabi.

“We have confidence in our ability. We are confident that we can continue winning. Our confidence in our players is one of the reasons for our good performances this season. The players presented a great level and achieved a good result last week. We will work on pushing for more good efforts this month also. We are playing a number of matches this month so we have to do it.

“The competition will be intense between us and Al Arabi who also have achieved three successive victories. They will have great support from their fans, but don't forget Al Ahli have confidence in their capabilities and have ambitions to achieve victory. This team will do everything to win this match in order to repeat our victory that we achieved over Al Arabi in the first leg of the league.

“Our effort this week will be key to us maintaining our position on the points table. I hope that the match will see the presence of our fans to support our team. At this stage, we need every support we can get,” said Jovovic.

Al Ahli goalkeeper Yazan Naim said, “We are ready and our goal is to repeat our win from last week. We know it will not be easy. This match comes at a time of great pressure on us as we get ready to play  a lot of matches. In this period, the team will see and feel great pressure as we have a big number of matches to tackle in January.

“Since last December, we knew that we would face the pressure of matches against big teams competing for top positions and Al Arabi are one of those teams. As a goalkeeper, I have been keeping myself busy through continuous training with the technical staff and I admit that I have not reached my true level, but I work very hard. I will improve and get better.”
