Al Duhail coach Sabri Lamouchi spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 21 match against Al Khor.

“The coming two matches that we will play, we need proper focus. We have to deal with teams cautiously as we are playing for points. We are entering a phase where we will play two consecutive matches. We must deal with it appropriately.

“Our players will play to avoid fatigue and injuries since we are faced with the pressure of playing many matches. In principle, we will play these matches to win them because they will be the best preparation for the AFC Champions League matches. By achieving victories in this match regardless of the squad that will play these matches, we have to be careful so that the players are in the best condition for the remainder of the season.

“We have rested a number of players such as Karim Boudiaf, Mohammed Muntari, Almoez Ali and Bassam Al Rawi because they played three matches with the national team and performed well. It was important for them to undergo a period of rest, but there is the return for Luis Martin Junior and he will be present in the Al Khor match.

“We will play the league matches in order to achieve victory to preserve the positive spirit in the team and to preserve the fighting spirit that we saw in our match against Al Arabi. We have a large number of players ready to play hard,” said Lamouchi.

Al Duhail player Asim Madibo said, “Our next match against Al Khor will be difficult, but we are ready. We aspire to achieve wins against Al Khor and Al Ahli. Everyone is ready to play hard and achieve the desired result.

“Al Khor are in a difficult situation and the match could be decisive for them. They will fight on the field, which we expect. In some matches we play without pressure, but we do not look at the opposition’s way of playing, but we play in order to achieve our goal, which is victory. 

“The season was difficult for our team, especially since there was a period of injuries and instability. But we were sure that we would return to the right path and we still have important tournaments locally and continentally.

“The victories we get give us the motivation to continue with strong performances and achieve distinguished results. Our team has become better because of harmony and, in the AFC Champions League, you will see the team do well.”
