Al Kharaitiyat coach Yousef Adam spoke to the media ahead of their 2020-21 season QNB Stars League Week 10 match against Al Arabi.
“We go through training with high concentration and all matches are important for us and we strive to win, God willing. We need points from this match.
“Al Arabi are a strong team and we saw the distinguished level they presented in the final of Amir Cup against Al Sadd. Frankly speaking, they do not deserve the 11th position in which they are in now and we realise that our match against them is difficult. It is not easy to beat Al Arabi unless we double our efforts and focus on the match. We hope to succeed in performing well and achieving a positive result.
“We have confidence in ourselves to provide good levels and look forward to achieving positive results during the upcoming matches because we seek to escape from the bottom of the table to a better position. Our team is able to achieve it, as a couple of victories will improve the team’s position a lot.
“If Al Kharaitiyat win over Al Arabi, it will not be a surprise because everything is possible. I have great confidence in our players and in our attackers. We train well and in matches there are some mistakes that lead to our loss. I am satisfied with the performance and not the results. The last place in the league does not satisfy us and we are working to better our position, thanks to everyone’s solidarity and I am optimistic that the players will do their best. I do not blame the attackers as the team is one unit,” said Yousef.
Al Kharaitiyat player Khaldoun Ismail said, “Determination and focus will be our main weapons in this important match because we need to win and return to the path of victories and collect points to improve our position.
“We realise that Al Arabi are a strong team and includes many distinguished players, overseas and nationals. We saw how they play against Al Sadd in the Amir Cup final, where they presented a very good level, so the match will not be easy for us unless we double our efforts and rectify mistakes.”
