Al Ahli coach Khaled Taj spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 21 match against Al Rayyan.

“We suffered a heavy defeat in the last round against Al Sadd and it is necessary to change the team’s appearance with better performance and a distinguished level. As a coach I realize the difficulty of the match, but I have full confidence in the abilities of the players who will represent Al Ahli.

“More than one of our important players will miss the match due to injuries and suspensions, but my confidence remains in the players' ability to change the team's appearance with a better technical level on the field that achieves the desired goal for Al Ahli.

“It is important to achieve a positive result in the match to improve the team’s ranking in the league. There is no fear for Al Ahli and the previous result will not have a negative psychological impact on the players. I worked with my assistants to address the mistakes and prepare the players to play the match with the best technical and physical performance at this difficult stage in the league,” said Khaled Taj.

Al Ahli goalkeeper Marwan Sharif said, “All players realize the importance of the team performing well in the match.

“We suffered a heavy loss that did not satisfy us players in the last round, but the option that remains before us is to make an effort to come out with the best level in the Al Rayyan match. As players, we feel the magnitude of responsibility in terms of our fans’ expectations and we must improve the team’s image.”
