Qatar SC coach Yousef Safri spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 5 match against Al Shamal.

“As everyone knows, we did not provide the required level in our previous match against Al Wakrah and I am not happy with the result. There were mistakes in the second half and everyone was disappointed in the dressing room. But this is normal in football.

“We needed two important factors – focus and a composed attitude. We have a task that is not easy now. The team is aware of the responsibility and is keen to provide what is needed.

“We were keen to correct the mistakes we made in the last match. I always hope to play matches with full squad and make sure to give opportunities to a number of players, especially young players. They really deserve the support of our fans, so I look forward to their presence with us always,” said Safri.

Qatar SC goalkeeper Sataa Abbasi said, “We have put behind the disappointment of the previous match and made double efforts in training in our bid to compensate for it and gain the maximum number of points before the league break.

“We promise our loyal fans that we will do our best. Their presence is a great support for us. We are aware of the responsibility that we have. We are now focusing on our next match and to redouble efforts to earn points against Al Shamal and in the upcoming matches as well.”
