Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 5 match against Al Markhiya.

“It is important to know the strength of the opposing team so that we can prepare our team in the best possible way and build attacks in a way that helps us reach the goal.

“The match will be difficult for both teams and I hope that we will be successful and be able to continue the series of positive results. We realize that this goal will only be achieved by showing the highest levels of focus throughout the course of the match.

“We had a good time before this match. I tried to prepare my team to continue to perform well and maintain the current mentality, and this is the most important thing before this game.

“I am happy with the good role played by our fans and I hope that this support will continue because it is very important for the team and for the future of the club. Young fans need to be encouraged more to be a regular presence at the matches,” said Marquez.

Al Wakrah player Saoud Al Nasr said, “I wish we continue on the path of victories and beat Al Markhiya. We have the potential to do that.

“We have excellent local players and our professional players are at a high level, and I feel very satisfied with the team’s preparations for this match in particular and for the rest of the league matches in general. But that does not prevent me from admitting that the match will be difficult because of the strengths of the opponents, who play with a good strategy. But we are determined to win the three points.”
