Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 6 match against Al Wakrah.

“The team must continue at the same level and return to the winning path, especially since the competition is strong this season. Chances are equal and that there is a great balance in the tournament. Most teams are strong and all those in the stadiums are enjoying the matches.

“We have full respect for the Al Wakrah, who are strong competitors and are constantly developing for two seasons and offer a good level. They have great quality, but Al Ahli will give everything in order to achieve the desired result. Our desire to win is great, we have great capabilities and will work to provide our best in order to come out with a result that satisfies our fans.

“I have great confidence in the capabilities of our players, who are in high spirit. They will give off their best on the field with the only goal being to achieve victory and delight the Al Ahli fans, who come to the stadium constantly to support the team,” said Nebojsa.

Al Ahli midfielder Abubakr Taha Bayoumi said, “We have full respect for the Al Wakrah team. And we respect ourselves as a team that plays with a high spirit and looks forward to another victory.

“Al Wakrah are a developed team in terms of performance. Everyone knew that Al Ahli were not an easy team to compete against, as were the cases in the past matches.

“We are keen to continue our good performance and we will play to win the match.”
