Al Arabi bounced back with a 5-1 win over Al Sailiya in Week 6 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium of Al Sadd club on Tuesday.

Coming into the clash on the back of a loss to Al Duhail in their previous round, leaders Al Arabi fired on all cylinders after an even first half battle which had ended 1-1.

The goals for Al Arabi came from Abdulaziz Al Ansari (17th minute), and two each from Omar Al Somah (49th and 61st minutes), and Yousef Msakni (51st and 82nd minutes).

The lone successful strike for Al Sailiya was from Carlos Strandberg in the eighth minute.

While Al Sailiya began in earnest, the determination of the strong Al Arabi side was displayed in a big way.

Al Sailiya held back the charging Al Arabi players in the first half until Al Somah latched on to a good chance to get the equaliser.

Al Arabi returned after the break only to express themselves more freely and to make their intentions known to which their rivals had few answers.

Al Arabi's high-profile signing Rafinha Alcantara came on as a substitute in the second half to make his QNB Stars League debut.

Al Arabi’s cracking win, fifth in the league so far, took their tally to a whopping 15 points wherein they have slammed in 12 goals against conceding only five.

Al Sailiya, with three points, remain 11th on the table.
