Qatar SC coach Youssef Safri spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 15 match against Al Arabi.
“Everyone in the team is making great efforts and we deserved to win, but this is football. In general, I thank the players for their efforts.
“We have some points that need more work to be proactive in scoring and to develop our movements in the last third.
“Our matches against Al Arabi are always competitive and everyone is aware of the responsibility and we are making great efforts. Al Arabi are coming from a valuable victory and I hope that our efforts will be rewarded with victory. I have confidence in the players and I wish them they pursue with focus, determination and will.
“Sometimes, the team is incomplete for several reasons, including injuries. Currently, we are waiting for (Javi) Martinez to be ready after suffering an injury. In general, our preparations are serious and enthusiastic, especially as we need points more than ever, so we have to enter the match with a winning mentality.
“I am very happy with our star Sebastian Soria achieving his 200th goal and I wish him more success. His presence increases enthusiasm in the offensive line with an excellent group of players at the front and he is one of the club legends,” said Safri.
Soria said, “I am very happy about this important achievement and certainly this was the result of serious and strong work over the past years. This achievement was made possible after my return to Qatar SC. I am very happy with what I achieved and I thank the fans and the club once again.
“We know that we need to collect points, especially since we were not able to win in the last three matches. We performed well in the last two matches, especially in the first half against Al Ahli, and against Al Shamal, but unfortunately we were not lucky in scoring.
“We look forward to continuing the quality of performance against Al Arabi, in addition to scoring goals to win and earning the three points. We have confidence in ourselves, our coach and our work to provide our best. Therefore the positive results will come and compensate for the result of the last two matches.”
