Al Shamal face Al Markhiya in Week 20 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League at the Al Gharafa Stadium on Friday, April 28. The kick-off is at 18:30.

The two teams had met recently at the Qatar SC Stadium on April 19 in the postponed match between them from Week 9 and Al Markhiya had emerged as 2-1 winners, thanks to the closing moments goal from their brilliant Moroccan Ayoub Assal.

Therefore, the match is considered as an opportunity for Al Shamal to compensate for the loss and work to achieve a new victory which will guarantee them the crucial three points and help them finish the league in a better position.

Al Shamal are currently ranked 10th with 17 points and on goal difference from Al Rayyan (ninth), while Al Markhiya are seventh with 21 points on goal difference from Al Ahli (eighth).

The challenge will be fierce between both teams’ players and their coaches. Each team has players of high calibre in all departments and positions.

Al Markhiya are served by Ayoub Assal, Driss Fettouhi, Ali Al Marri, Jameel Al Yahmadi and Ayoub Ezzi among others.

As for Al Shamal, guided by coach Wesam Rizik, they also have a number of prominent players including Yacine Bammou, Amjad Atwan, Ali Olwan and Majed Mohammed, who scored the only goal of his team in the last match against Al Markhiya.
