Al Duhail coach Luis Castro spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 18 match against Al Shamal.
“We are coming from a good victory and our spirits are high, and we must do our best in training and be ready for the match because we need the points.
“Our match against Al Rayyan was fun for the fans, but we must know that every match has its own circumstances, and the reason for the victory over Al Rayyan is that we trained for seven days with the full squad, which has not happened since the beginning of the season. We were criticized a lot after our loss against Al Wakrah and we had to change the picture.
“We respect Al Shamal a lot because we know that we lost matches against teams that were not in the lead and we were not expected to lose against them. Our players have enough experience to face this situation without looking at the absences in the other team. We know that most clubs face us with great enthusiasm and we do not look at the preparations of Al Shamal. We will take the field with full focus,” said Castro.
Al Duhail player Mohammed Alaaeldin said, “A difficult match for us against Al Shamal, who have a good team and players with outstanding levels. It is not an easy team on the field, and we had a strong match against them in the first leg of the league.
“We appeared well against Al Rayyan and were able to win it with a great result, which helped our players boost their morale after the loss against Al Wakrah. Certainly, we will build on it in our match against Al Shamal and we will perform in a way that guarantees us the match points.”
