The Board of Trustees of Qatar Football Association (QFA) Award presented the Football for All Award for the 2019-20 season to the Ministry of Public Health for its efforts in the resumption of football activity, on Tuesday, 15th September, 2020.
Mr. Hassan Rabiah Al Kuwari, General Secretary of the Board of Trustees of QFA Award, presented the award in the presence of Dr. Hamad Eid Al Rumaihi, Director of the Department of Health Protection and Communicable Disease Control at the Ministry of Public Health, and Dr. Muna Al Maslamani, Medical Director of Hamad Medical Corporation’s Communicable Disease Center.
Mr. Nasser Mubarak Al Kuwari, Head of Community Relations Department at the Qatar Stars League, was also present.
On his part, Mr. Hassan Rabiah Al Kuwari said, “I present this award on my own behalf and on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the QFA Award, headed by His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, with sincere thanks, affection and appreciation to the Ministry of Public Health and all its departments as well as medical teams for the hard work and efforts put in to combat the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in the community. I also commend all their efforts and work in the resumption of football activity through the health protocol that was successfully adopted and implemented to facilitate the conduct of competitions and matches.”
Dr. Al Rumaihi thanked and appreciated the Board of Trustees of QFA Award for this initiative, stressing the keenness of the Ministry of Public Health and all medical as well as administrative staff to continue co-operation with all sections of the community in order to achieve common goals and aspirations. He praised the Ministry of Public Health’s warm relationship with the QFA and QSL, and the continued constructive co-operation.
It may be noted that the Football for All Award, given to organisations, groups or individuals making a significant contribution towards football in the local community, was jointly presented in the 2019-20 season to a number of entities, namely the Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Interior, Aspetar Hospital and Qatar Red Crescent.
