Al Sailiya defeated Al Shamal 2-1 in a friendly played on Sunday.

The match was part of Al Sailiya’s preparations for the rest of the season, especially the QNB Stars League which will resume on 3rd February after conclusion of the Asian Cup in the UAE.

Abdulqadir Ilyas (28th minute) and Meshaal Al Shammari (last minute) scored for Al Sailiya, while Benjamin Ashmong (17th minute) gave Al Shamal’s reply.

Al Sailiya’s Tunisian coach Sami Trabelsi was keen to give opportunity to maximum number pf players, so their technical and physical levels could be tested.

Al Sailiya will face reigning champions Al Duhail in Week 16 of the QNB Stars League on 5th February.

Al Sailiya’s Syrian recruit Fahd Al Yousef was back to the team fold after doing duty for his country in the Asian Cup.
