Al Gharafa coach Slavisa Jokanovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 1 match against Al Shahania.

“We’ve prepared the team for QNB Stars League. We had worked to make the team fully ready before the kick-off and produce good results. I wish we win our first game, against Al Shahania at the Al Janoub Stadium on Thursday. I had seen the last match between Al Shahania and Al Gharafa.

“Qatar is a beautiful country and I’m happy to be here. As for the competition, I’ve played football in many leagues. It’s the ambition of every coach to win and make a good team with a special identity.

“I won’t compare Al Gharafa’s performance last season and this season. The team has a new coach and new players. We’ve some good new professional players and we’re awaiting another player.

“We also have young players with experience and we’ll focus on achieving stability in order to obtain positive results,” said Jokanovic.
