Al Shahania coach Nabil Anwar spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 20 match against Qatar SC.
“Our preparations to face Qatar SC were normal as we prepared for the games against Al Ahli and Al Sailiya. There is no doubt that the upcoming matches are important, they are like cup final. There is no substitute for winning them.
“Our victory against Al Ahli and draw with Al Sailiya contributed to reducing the difference between us and Umm Salal as well as Al Khor. This difference will make our team at the top of readiness to face Qatar SC.
“All matches are difficult regardless of the difference in points. All clubs are trying to collect maximum number of points.
“Facing Qatar SC will be difficult, especially after they presented good levels during their matches against Al Rayyan and Umm Salal.
“I am very satisfied with the level of our players and about their desire and ambition. It reflected positively on the field.
“The chances of our survival in the First Division are in our hands now. We must focus on our results and do not look at other clubs.
“Qatar SC coach Wesam Rizik is like my brother. He deserves praise for the work he does. After he took charge of Qatar SC, that team has changed for the better,” said Nabil.
Al Shahania player Jamil Al Ahmadi said, “We seek to achieve victories in all remaining matches to achieve our goal, which is to stay in the QNB Stars League. We are able to collect maximum number of points in the next stage, especially after we performed well in the last two games. We hope to continue that performance against Qatar SC as well.”
