Umm Salal coach Raul Caneda spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 20 match against Qatar SC.

“Our situation is very difficult and this week we are facing a team that goes through the same conditions. In the last two weeks, we worked to motivate the players and prepare the team for this confrontation.

“We are ready to face Qatar SC. It is like a final game for us and winning it will keep us away from the relegation zone. When I took over, I never expected we would slip into this position (Umm  Salal are currently ninth in the standings with 20 points).

“The coach has to expect everything and he has to always work to improve performance and results.

“During the last match against Al Duhail which we lost by a 1-3 margin, we were not good at counter-attacks in the final minutes. We made many mistakes,” said Caneda.
