Al Sadd coach Jesualdo Ferreira spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 10 match against Al Ahli.
“This game comes at a very sad time for us after our exit from the AFC Champions League. The players are suffering from physical and mental agony, but we will prepare well for the match.
“We wished to play in the Asian competition’s final. We will now focus on the league and we will play for the title. We have some very important games coming up.
“Our players, foreign and Qataris, showed great professionalism. They played well under pressure. Everyone saw how they performed in Iran in front of 100,000 people and they deserved to win,” said Ferreira.
Al Sadd player Tariq Salman said, “We wished to qualify for the AFC Champions League final, but we lost out. We will try to open a new chapter and the team is ready for the game against Al Ahli.”
