Al Duhail coach Rui Faria spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 5 match against Al Shahania.

“We go into the match against Al Shahania without looking at the position of our opponents because they are not lesser rivals than the teams we faced so far.

“Our preparations for this match have been normal and similar to what we do for other games. We will try to find the best way to achieve our main target – three points.

“Despite missing three foreign professional players in the last game (Yousef Msakny, Mohanad Ali and Paulo Edmilson), I was happy with the performance of other players and the efforts they made on the pitch. We will see if they can play this match after getting the green light from medical staff.

“Our position in the table is not the ideal one for a team like Al Duhail, but we do not think that it is impossible to get better and compete for the title. In football, there are periods when the level falls. It is too early to talk about champions now,” said Faria.
