Al Arabi coach Heimir Hallgrimsson spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 22 match against Al Duhail.

“We want to wind up our campaign well. We know that the result of the game against Al Duhail will not make much of a difference, but we want to end the league season well. We also want to fare well in the Emir Cup.

“When we were in the middle of the season, we knew it was difficult to achieve a big goal. So we focused more on improving the team’s technical and individual performance.

“We have been giving opportunities to a number of young players, so that they gain confidence. That will be of much help in the future. Some of them are developing rapidly and some others need more time.

“It was clear to me that it was difficult for Al Arabi to become stronger than Al Sadd or Al Duhail because they have players with huge potential. So we thought we can be different by having a special identity, by being strong in certain areas. We have to work to establish a different identity so that we are able to compete with these teams,” said Hallgrimsson.
