Al Sadd coach Jesualdo Ferreira spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 8 match against Al Sailiya.

“We want to beat Al Sailiya and stay on top of the standings. The task will be difficult, for Al Sailiya are a tough side having stability in terms of the technical staff or players and are currently in the top order.

“Our goal this season is to win the league and also the AFC Champions League. We know that our position is difficult because of the loss in the semifinal against Persepolis, but we will not give up.

“We did not train hard after the Persepolis game and gave the players a break because they had made great efforts. They will not be affected by the  setback that we suffered in the AFC Champions League,” said Ferreira.

Al Sadd midfielder Salem Al Hajri said, “Al Sailiya are one of the best teams around and they also seek victory. We are well-prepared for this game and our goal is to win and get the three points, so we continue to be in the lead.”
