Al Duhail coach Rui Faria spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 10 match against Al Khor.

“The win over Al Sadd is behind us and we look forward towards playing a good match against Al Khor, so we can win full points and keep leading the QNB Stars League table.

“We have prepared for this game with great focus and seriousness. It is true that we will face an opponent who have not collected many points, but they always score goals and that means they are looking for positive results.

“Everyone was happy after our victory over Al Sadd because it was an important result and we got three points against a strong team. The players have the right to be happy, but that should not become overconfidence. So that will make us wary of an opponent looking for victory. They deserve our respect and we must not lose focus. We deal with each game separately and, at the moment, we are only thinking of a positive result against Al Khor.

“As you know during the break after this round, some players will join their national teams, but then, there are Ooredoo Cup matches,” said Faria.

Al Duhail player Mohanad Ali said, “The victory over Al Sadd made us very happy, but we will go into the Al Khor match with full focus to achieve victory.

“Any player joining a new team needs time to gel. I am working closely with my team-mates under a perfect atmosphere within the team with the coaching staff and all players. Everyone was wondering why I was not scoring in a big club that won many titles! God willing, that will happen soon.”
