Al Gharafa coach Christian Gourcuff spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 20 match against Al Rayyan.

“A group of our players are doing international duty, especially for the Qatar Olympic team. However, we will work harder. And we will see if they would be ready to join the team in the next game.

“Al Rayyan have players with great experience and good potential. The difference between the two teams is the average age in both teams. In Al Gharafa, there is a large presence of young players. The game is strong considering the potential of the sides.

“Victory over Al Arabi in the last round gave us confidence as we seek more positive results even though the league is in an advanced stage.

“The problem we have is the lack of consistency in performance. We do not maintain the same enthusiasm from one game to another. One positive thing is that we have a group of players who are able to make it big in future,” said Gourcuff.
