Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 20 match against Al Arabi.

“The preparations for this round were affected by the lack of time. We played our last match on Sunday and we will go into this confrontation against a strong Al Arabi team on Thursday.

“Of course, we are working towards winning the match, like other games, but it will be difficult. The fact is that I am happy with my team because we are playing well of late and creating many scoring opportunities in front of the opponents’ goal. In the end, if you do not score, you must be prepared to receive goals.

“I am waiting for the team doctor’s decision and the medical report of Algerian player Mohamed Benyettou. I do not know the extent of his injury and I wish him a speedy recovery. I hope the injury is minor.

“From the mathematical point of view, there are possibilities that we can finish in the fifth position,” said Marquez.

Al Wakrah player Othman Coulibaly said, “We will have the highest levels of focus in this match to produce a positive result. I think I have done a good job so far, but the season is not over yet. So I have to focus better and do my best with the team to help Al Wakrah reach the highest possible position.”
