Al Rayyan coach Diego Aguirre spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 2 match against Al Gharafa.

“What’s important for us is the group. We aren’t dealing with the players as individuals. We know that we’ve to press hard always to win. The players endure the pressure, but we may need four or five games before our players gel well fully and that’s normal.

“We need to beat Al Gharafa. I’ve confidence in the team. I ask the players to provide a convincing performance. We may need more time, but we’ll reach our goals.

“There’ve been a lot of changes in the Al Gharafa team of late. I’ve good memories and good relationship with Al Gharafa, whom I coached in 2014. But now, I’m with Al Rayyan and I belong there. Therefore, I’ll play in order to win.

“We’re trying to sign a striker. Negotiations are going on. He may not play this game, but it may happen soon,” said Aguirre.
