Al Arabi coach Heimir Hallgrimsson spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 10 match against Al Sailiya.

“We know that Al Sailiya had finished in the third place last season, which makes them unhappy with this season’s ranking so far. But they are still a strong team, so we must be at our best in order to bag three points.

“I have analysed the video of our previous match against Al Wakrah, which ended in a 2-2 draw. There were some mistakes and, in the second half, we provided a good level. The important thing was that we did not lose.

“We will not make much change in our playing style against Al Sailiya. We know how Al Sailiya play offensively, we will not give them the opportunity to reach our goal. And we will work to close spaces for them,” said Hallgrimsson.

Al Arabi player Birkir Bjarnason said, “No one is satisfied with the team’s results in the last three games, but the good thing is that the team is doing well, which means that we will be back on the winning path.

“The club signed me for three months, this is my job. I will do my best in the coming period for the team. I worked under coach Heimir for six years when I represented the Iceland national team. My team-mates also helped me a lot in previous games. I think Al Arabi deserved more than one point in their last three games, but with our good work and performance, positive results will come.”
