Al Khor coach Omar Najhi spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 16 match against Qatar SC.

“Our preparations went off well and the players feel the importance of winning the points from this match, which will have a lot of impact on our final standings.

“The task will not be easy because Qatar SC will definitely approach the game with all seriousness so that they can move away from the bottom of the table with the points on offer. For us too, these points will help us move out of the danger zone.

“We had lost our first-leg match to Qatar SC by a 1-2 margin. It was an important lesson for us. That taught us not to underestimate any team. Qatar SC were going through a lean patch then, so we played with overconfidence and paid the price. I hope we will not repeat the same scenario.

“Wasting opportunities is normal in football. Strikers are required to have much focus. We do not get many opportunities in the matches, so we must score. What is always required is focus in front of the goal,” said Najhi.
