Al Sailiya coach Sami Trabelsi spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 1 match against Al Khor.

“We enter the new season with greater ambitions. The start is certainly not going to be easy as all teams are back from the preparatory period.

“We’ve signed many players, foreign and local, and the team is developing and improving day by day as a collective unit. We want to display the same identity we showed last season with better levels.

“We’ve a tough season as we’ll participate for the first time in the AFC Champions League and that requires us to be on top of technical readiness, especially since we signed a number of outstanding players. Al Sailiya are a side that always shows fighting spirit.

“We expect the league competition to be stronger this season. There’re many changes at all clubs and we’re always keen to be in utmost readiness for all games.

“Most of our new recruits weren’t key players in their teams. But as always, I’m satisfied when I’ve one or two stars in the squad. We don’t want to put ourselves under pressure by saying we’ll compete for the title. We take one game at a time,” said Trabelsi.
