Al Rayyan’s Under-23 coach Gilson Souza spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 12 match against Al Ahli.

“We are ready to face Al Ahli in Week 12 of the QNB Stars League. We are looking forward to keep winning and have prepared ourselves to register yet another victory.

“Al Ahli are a good team that is going through a good patch in terms of performance and results. Our goal is to collect three points from this game even though we respect Al Ahli and also all teams.

“It is true that losing a professional player’s service is difficult, but Al Rayyan has bench strength,” said Souza, referring to Argentinian striker Jonathan Menendez’s long injury layoff.

“Jonathan is still suffering from an injury, but we have other players to deliver the goods. We finished the first leg in second place. Now, we have the opportunity to compete for the title. We will grab the chances that come our way,” he added.
