QNB Stars League side Umm Salal players continued their training at their homes under the supervision of Moroccan coach Aziz Ben Askar and fitness trainer.
Players are following the exercise regimen assigned to them by the physical trainer with co-ordination through electronic devices and GPS.
Goalkeeper Baba Malik joined the trainers after he recovered from an illness he suffered before the stoppage of action due to coronavirus (Covid 19).
Umm Salal players are training at specific times with the help of customised devices as they aim to be on top of their readiness ahead of the resumption of matches.
On his part, Umm Salal Sports Club official Ali Amin hailed the commitment being shown by all players towards the training programmes under the supervision of Ben Askar and fitness coach.
He said, “Everyone is committed to the measures taken by the Qatar Stars League for the health and safety of players.”
He expressed hope that the players would be able to resume their ground training soon as home-based exercises alone would not be enough.
Ali Amin expressed his satisfaction over Umm Salal’s recent results in the 2019-20 season QNB Stars League before the stoppage.
“Despite the difficult circumstances that Umm Salal had during the beginning of the season, we are satisfied with the foreign players and professionals. We’re also happy with the appointment of coach Ben Askar, whom we consider as one of our biggest gains this season as he has proved his mettle as a coach.
