Al Shahania Sports Club President Manahi Al Shammari confirmed that they had not decided on their pre-season camp as part of their preparations for the 2019-20 season.

“We’re finalising all arrangements in co-ordination with the technical staff regarding our pre-season camp and also the new recruits, be it the overseas professionals or Qatari players,” Al Shammari told Qatar Stars League website.

He stressed that the basic combination of the team would not change. Spanish coach Jose Murcia has put forward some suggestions about the inclusion of some players and the club management is assessing them in co-ordination with the technical staff, so we can finalise things in the coming weeks.

“Murcia will return to Doha soon and we had renewed the contract with him for one season. We’ll meet with him once he returns to discuss some matters related to the new season and our preparations ahead of it,” he said.

Promoted side Al Shahaniya achieved some good results in the 2018-19 QNB Stars League, finishing a creditable seventh with 27 points.

“There won’t be any let-up in the new season, and we’ll continue with the same strength and determination. We’re counting on our team to make the best of the new season even though the competition will be tougher,” Al Shammari added.
