The Qatar Stars League (QSL) held a technical meeting, on Tuesday, 16th April, 2019, at its Headquarters in Al Bidda Tower, ahead of the Play-Off between the QNB Stars League’s 11th-placed team (Qatar SC) and Second Division runners-up (Muaither SC).

The Play-Off, to determine a berth in the 2019-20 QNB Stars League, will kick off at 18:45 at the Al Duhail Stadium on Wednesday, 17th April.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Ahmad Al Adsani, Director of Competitions Department at the QSL, Mr. Ahmad Abdullah Al Sayed, Head of Football Operations at the QSL, representatives Mr. Khalid Saleh (Qatar SC Team Manager), Mr. Ahmed Ali (Muaither SC Team Manager), Mr. Abdulla Al Balooshi (referees) and Captain Hassan Marzouq Al Sulaiti (stadium security).

While welcoming the attendees, Mr. Al Adsani wished both teams success.

A number of important issues were discussed, most notably the need to follow the guidelines and jersey colours of each team.

The attendees were reminded of the match regulations. If the Play-Off ends in a draw after regular time, an extra time of 30 minutes (divided into two halves) will be allowed. If the deadlock still continues, penalty shoot-out will be enforced in order to determine which team will play in the 2019-20 season QNB Stars League.

The meeting witnessed the representative of Referees’ Committee pointing out the need for both teams to co-operate with the match referees and the decisions taken by them. The possibility of a fourth substitution in case the game goes into extra time was also discussed.

The stadium security representative stressed the need for fans to co-operate with security personnel and organisers while urging them to abide by the rules related to security and safety.
