The Qatar Stars League (QSL) held a technical meeting ahead of the 2020 Qatar Cup, which will be held from 10th to 17th January, with the participation of top-four clubs in the 2018-19 season QNB Stars League (Al Sadd, Al Duhail, Al Sailiya and Al Rayyan in that order).

The meeting was held at the QSL Headquarters in Al Bidda Tower on Wednesday, 8th January, in the presence of Mr. Ahmed Salman Al Adsani, Director of Competitions Department at QSL, Mr. Abdullah Al Balooshi, representative of the Qatar Football Association’s (QFA) Referees’ Committee, and representatives of the competing clubs.

Mr. Al Adsani welcomed all attendees, wishing their clubs good luck in the 2020 Qatar Cup, and said he looked forward to further co-operation between the QSL and clubs.

The meeting discussed the following matters:

Determination of jerseys of each team.

Organisational aspects and match-day procedures.

Importance of attending the stadium on match days.

The tournament format, which stipulates straight penalty shoot-out in the event of a tie at the end of regular time.

Disciplinary decisions will rest with QFA.
