The QSL Cup semifinals are sure to be exciting contests. It will be Al Kharaitiyat vs Al Gharafa (16:30) and Qatar SC vs Al Duhail (19:30) at the Al Duhail Stadium on Saturday, 26th January.

An interesting point to note is that all four semifinalists are from Group A as Group B qualifiers Al Rayyan, Al Khor, Al Ahli and Al Sadd, in that order, lost out in the quarterfinals.

The tournament rule states that, after the group stage, if any match ends in a tie, the teams would play an extra 30 minutes divided into two halves. If the deadlock remains in extra time too, then penalty shoot-out will be introduced.

Al Kharaitiyat vs Al Gharafa

Al Kharaitiyat qualified for the semifinals by defeating Al Rayyan 3-2, while reigning champions Al Gharafa put it across Al Ahli 1-0 in the quarterfinal.

Al Kharaitiyat had finished their engagements in Group A in the fourth place with six points. They had two wins and three defeats against them.

Al Gharafa had ended up runners-up in Group A with nine points (two victories and three draws.

It will be a repeat of the group-stage clash in Round 3 when Al Gharafa defeated Al Kharaitiyat 3-0.

Qatar SC vs Al Duhail

Qatar SC progressed to the last-four stage at the expense of current QNB Stars League leaders Al Sadd, after winning 2-0, whereas Al Duhail beat Al Khor 5-1 in the last quarterfinal.

Qatar SC had topped Group A with 11 points (three wins and two draws). Reigning QNB Stars League champions Al Duhail advanced from the group as the third-placed team. They had eight points (two victories, as many draws and one defeat).

Qatar SC had beaten Al Duhail 2-1 when they faced off in the last round of group stage.
