19:25 kick-off at Al Ahli Stadium

Al Sailiya face Al Rayyan in Week 9 of the 2019-20 QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 19:25 at the Al Ahli Stadium on Thursday, 31st October, 2019.

Al Sailiya are sixth in the standings with 11 points. They were held goalless by Al Shahania in the previous round, so Sami Trabelsi’s wards will be eager to get back to winning path.

The Peregrines, who had finished a creditable third in last season’s QNB Stars League for the first time in their history, have a goal difference of -1 (10 goals for and 11 against).

Al Sailiya have three wins, as many defeats and two draws against their name.

It has to be seen whether Al Sailiya will be able to stop Al Rayyan in their tracks.

Diego Aguirre-coached Al Rayyan are having a good run, occupying the second position in the table with 18 points, two less than Al Duhail.

Al Rayyan and Al Duhail are the only unbeaten sides so far in the tournament.

The Lions will look to record their sixth straight victory and thus stay in strong contention for the title. They defeated Al Arabi 2-1 in a humdinger of a game last week.

It may be recalled that Al Rayyan had beaten Al Sadd 4-2 in the Qatar Clasico in Week 6 of the QNB Stars League.

Al Sailiya boast of Karim Ansari, Meshaal Al Shammari, Mohammed Muddathir and Abdelkader Ilyas, while Al Rayyan have the likes of Yacine Brahimi, Rodrigo Tabata, Abdulaziz Hatem, Sebastian Soria, Mohammed Juma, Mohammed Alaaeldin and in-form goalkeeper Fahd Younis.
