Al Ahli eased past Al Arabi 3-0 in Week 9 of the QNB Stars League on Saturday.

Ali Qaderi (fifth minute), Nigel de Jong (22nd-min penalty) and Mohsine Moutaouali (37th) struck the goals as Al Ahli produced their fourth win of the season at the Al Arabi Stadium.

Al Arabi could not add to their four wins so far this season.

Al Ahli opened the scoring when Ali, after receiving a cross from Omid Amir, produced a neat yet powerful deflection from inside the Al Arabi box to send the ball into the net.

Ali right-footed the ball past goalkeeper Abdulnaser Al Abbasi as Al Ahli went 1-0 early in the clash. It was his first goal of the season.

In another first for the season, De Jong found the net for the first time for his new team just a few minutes later.

Al Arabi’s Mohammad Mesleh brought down Majed Mohammed with a reckless tackle inside his own box. Referee Nayef Mohamed promptly pointed to the spot and De Jong easily converted the penalty.

Then, Moutaouali charged into the Al Arabi box and as the goalkeeper moved out of his position, the Moroccan attacking midfielder moved to the right and flicked the ball into the net for his side’s third goal.
