The QNB Stars League Week 6 fixtures on Friday, 21st September, are Al Sailiya vs Al Ahli (17:55) at Al Ahli Stadium and Al Kharaitiyat vs Umm Salal (20:05) at Al Khor Stadium.

Al Sailiya vs Al Ahli

Al Sailiya coach Sami Trabelsi said they were wary of Al Ahli as they are coming off a fighting performance that saw them beat Al Kharaitiyat 3-2 in the last round.

Al Sailiya have nine points and they will be keen to stay in the top four even as Al Arabi, Al Gharafa and Umm Salal are breathing down their neck.

Trabelsi also said his wards were technically, physically and psychologically ready to face Al Ahli as they benefited from the recent international break.

Al Sailiya did not play in Week 5 as their match against Al Duhail was rescheduled due to the latter’s AFC Champions League commitment.

Trabelsi’s Al Ahli counterpart Milan Macala is upbeat, for his team registered their second victory to be on six points.

He must also be delighted that some of his players have recovered from their injuries.

Al Kharaitiyat vs Umm Salal

Al Kharaitiyat are in a precarious position as they are the only team yet to open account in the QNB Stars League standings, having lost all five matches.

They replaced Tunisian coach Nassif Al Bayawi after the first three rounds with Moroccan Abdelaziz El Amri. Yet, their bad run continued.

However, The Thunders can take solace from the fact that they put up their best performance so far this season before going down to Al Ahli 2-3 in Week 5.

Umm Salal are in an upbeat mood after beating Al Gharafa 3-2 that took their points tally to seven.

The Orange Fortress need to sustain the momentum if they have to finish among the top four.
