17:40 kick-off at Al Duhail Stadium
Al Duhail face Al Sailiya challenge in Week 6 of the 2019-20 QNB Stars League at the Al Duhail Stadium on Thursday.
Al Duhail are second in the standings, behind Al Sadd, with 11 points. The Red Knights have not lost a match. They have three wins and two draws and a goal difference of +4 (nine goals for and five against).
Al Duhail defeated Qatar SC 2-1, Al Wakrah 4-2 and Al Shahania 1-0, but were held by Al Arabi and Al Rayyan by an identical 1-1 score.
Al Duhail, coached by Portuguese Rui Faria, would be looking to stay in strong contention for the title, so they would not want to drop points.
Al Duhail miss the services of Ismail Mohammed and Asim Madibo due to injury, while the trio of Paulo Edmilson, Mohanad Ali and Mohammed Musa were back in training after returning from their injuries.
On the other hand, Al Sailiya are on a high following their 3-1 victory over Al Gharafa that saw them jump from ninth to sixth in the QNB Stars League table.
The Peregrines’ other victory was against Qatar SC (1-0). Tunisian Sami Trabelsi-coached side lost 1-3 to Al Sadd and 0-3 to Al Ahli, and drew 1-1 with Al Khor.
Al Sailiya, who ended up a creditable third in the 2018-19 QNB Stars League, have a goal difference of -2, having scored six goals and conceded eight.
