16:50 kick-off at Al Janoub Stadium

Reigning champions Al Sadd will eye nothing less than a victory when they take on Umm Salal in Week 4 of the 2019-20 QNB Stars League on Friday.

Al Sadd have six points, with an all-win record, and Umm Salal just one point from their 2-2 draw with Al Rayyan in Week 1. The Orange Fortress then lost successively (0-1 to Al Khor and 1-5 to Al Arabi).

Al Sadd’s victories were against Al Wakrah (4-1) and Al Shahania (7-1). Xavi Hernandez’s men have played one game less as their match against Al Sailiya in Week 3 was postponed to 24th September due to their AFC Champions League second-leg quarterfinal against Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr, which was played in Doha on 16th September.

And The Wolves made it big by beating Al Nassr 3-1 to progress to the semifinals of Asian competition with a 4-3 aggregate score. The Qatari side had lost the first leg 1-2 in Riyadh on 26th August.

Umm Salal will be keen on registering their first victory. It is also a chance for them to avoid a hat-trick of defeats that will dent the morale of their players.

The Orange Fortress too have players with potential in their ranks and the coaching staff, led by Spaniard Raul Caneda, will definitely look to make a turnaround in their fortunes.
