The 2019-20 season QNB Stars League is back, with Week 3 matches being played this weekend. The tournament had taken a fortnight-long break due to international commitments.

The fixtures are Al Khor vs Al Ahli (16:55, Al Janoub Stadium) and Umm Salal vs Al Arabi (19:05, Al Sadd Stadium) on Friday, 13th September, Al Shahania vs Al Wakrah (16:55, Al Janoub Stadium) and Qatar SC vs Al Gharafa (19:05, Al Sadd Stadium) on Saturday, 14th September, and Al Duhail vs Al Rayyan (19:05, Al Janoub Stadium) on Sunday, 15th September.

The Al Sailiya vs Al Sadd fixture has been postponed to 24th September due to the latter’s AFC Champions League second-leg quarterfinal against Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr in Doha on 16th September.

The air-conditioned Al Janoub Stadium and Al Sadd Stadium will once again host the matches, making it comfortable for players and spectators alike.

Al Khor and Al Ahli will open the week’s action on a confident note as both teams are coming off victories.

Al Khor beat Umm Salal 1-0 in Week 2 to maintain their unbeaten record, while Al Ahli bounced back from their defeat to Al Arabi with an impressive 3-0 win over Al Sailiya.

Al Khor are fifth in the table with four points and Al Ahli sixth with three points.

It will be followed by the clash between Umm Salal and Al Arabi.

The new-look Al Arabi are on a high as they occupy the third position in the standings with four points. The Dream Team followed up their opening-week defeat of Al Ahli with a creditable 1-1 draw against strong contenders Al Duhail.

Umm Salal, who had lost 0-1 to Al Khor in Week 2, have only one point to their credit, which they earned by holding Al Rayyan in their opener.

Al Shahania will eye victory against promoted Al Wakrah, who beat Qatar SC 2-0 in the previous round.

Al Shahania are at the bottom of the table, yet to open their account. They lost both games and are in the same plight as Qatar SC, who play Al Gharafa.

On their part, Al Gharafa are in the second position with four points (from victory over Al Shahania and goalless draw with Al Rayyan in the previous round).

Next up is Al Duhail vs Al Rayyan high-profile encounter.

Al Duhail are currently fourth in the standings with four points and Al Rayyan eighth with two points.

Al Duhail won a match and drew the other, while Al Rayyan drew both their games.
