Umm Salal face Al Shahania in Week 21 of the QNB Stars League on Thursday, 4th April, with an aim to continue their winning run. The kick-off is at 20:20 at the Qatar SC Stadium.

Umm Salal, in eighth place with 23 points, heaved a huge sigh of relief when they defeated Qatar SC 1-0 last week as it came after a hat-trick of defeats they suffered against Al Kharaitiyat, Al Khor and reigning champions Al Duhail in that order.

Spaniard Raul Caneda’s men have six wins, five draws and nine defeats against their name. Their goal difference is -12 (21 goals for and 33 against).

Umm Salal will look to collect maximum number of points from the last two games in order to improve their position. They had the disappointment of losing out on the fourth spot to Al Gharafa in last season’s QNB Stars League in the very last round.

The Orange Fortress have players of calibre such as Lawrence Quaye, Mohammed Kassola, Mahmoud Al Mawas and Yannick Sagbo.

Promoted Al Shahania, under Spaniard Jose Murcia, are placed ninth with 21 points (five victories, six draws and nine defeats). Their goal difference is -13 (18 goals for and 31 against).

For sure, Al Shahania have been putting up creditable displays in the 2018-19 season QNB Stars League. Murcia succeeded in transforming them into a fighting unit.

They mainly have the services of Alvaro Perez, Luciano Vazquez, Kesse Amangoua, Reza Shanbeh, Ramin Rezaeian and Sultan Al Kuwari.

Al Shahania and Umm Salal had played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
