Al Shahania put it across Umm Salal 5-2 in Week 21 of the QNB Stars League at the Qatar SC Stadium on Thursday.

Al Shahaniya took their points tally to 24, while Umm Salal stayed on 23.

It was promoted side Al Shahania’s sixth victory in this season’s QNB Stars League. They drew six matches and lost nine.

Al Shahania thus ensured their stay in the First Division.

Rebin Sulaka (ninth minute), Kesse Amangoua (16th), Luciano Vazquez (49th), Saad Hussain (52nd) and Ramin Rezaeian (81st) scored the goals for Al Shahania, coached by Spaniard Jose Murcia.

It was a well-deserved victory for Al Shahania, who have been punching above their weight in this season’s QNB Stars League.

Al Shahania have been putting up creditable displays as Murcia succeeded in transforming them into a fighting unit.

Umm Salal thus crashed to their 10th defeat. Syrian striker Mahmoud Al Mawas scored both goals for The Orange Fortress in the 67th and 83rd minutes.  

Al Shahania and Umm Salal had played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
