18:40 kick-off at Al Arabi Stadium
Al Arabi face Al Duhail in yet another heavyweight battle in Week 13 of the 2019-20 QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 18:40 at the Al Arabi Stadium on Friday, 24th January, 2020.
Al Arabi have a tough task on hand as they are up against the table toppers. The Dream Team are fifth in the table with 18 points (five wins, three draws and four defeats). Their goal difference is +4 (23 goals for and 19 against).
Al Arabi are breathing down the neck of fourth-placed Al Gharafa, who have two points more, in their bid to barge into the top-four bracket.
Heimir Hallgrimsson’s wards had beaten Al Ahli 3-0 in the previous round. Then, they lost bigtime (1-6) to holders Al Sadd in a match deferred from Week 5.
Al Duhail go into the match without Portuguese coach Rui Faria, with whom they parted ways following their loss to Al Sadd by a 0-4 margin in the final of 2020 Qatar Cup last Friday.
The Red Knights have nine victories (the most by any team) and three draws to their credit. They and Al Rayyan are the only unbeaten teams in the tournament thus far. Their goal difference is +14 (24 goals for and 10 against).
Both teams have a number of outstanding players such as Aron Gunnarsson, Ahmed Fathi, Hamdi Harbaoui, Pierre-Michel Lassoga and Mohammed Salah El Neel (Al Arabi), Almoez Ali, Mario Mandzukic, Mehdi Benatia, Yousef Msakni and Paulo Edmilson (Al Duhail).
Al Duhail and Al Arabi had played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
