18:20 kick-off at Al Gharafa Stadium

Umm Salal face Al Rayyan in Week 12 of the 2019-20 QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 18:20 at the Al Gharafa Stadium on Friday, 3rd January, 2020.

Umm Salal have an uphill task on hand, being at the bottom of the table with five points. They have the same number of points as Al Shahania, but fell behind on goal difference (-16 as against Al Shahania’s -14).

Even a change at the helm, Moroccan Aziz Ben Askar replacing Spaniard Raul Caneda, could not help Umm Salal make a turnaround in their fortunes. The Orange Fortress have only one win to their credit. While they drew two matches, they lost eight times this season. They have scored only seven goals, but conceded 23.

Al Rayyan are flying high as the tournament enters the second and crucial leg. They are occupying the second position with 25 points, four less than Al Duhail.

The Lions have seven victories and four draws to their credit. They, along with Al Duhail, are the only unbeaten side and have a goal difference of +15 (24 goals for and nine against), the best among all teams (Al Duhail are second with +14).

Both teams have players of high calibre in their ranks, so that should make it a keen contest.

Al Rayyan and Umm Salal had played out a 2-2 draw in the first leg.
