16:10 kick-off at Al Wakrah Stadium

Al Wakrah face holders Al Sadd in Week 12 of the 2019-20 QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 16:10 at the Al Wakrah Stadium on Thursday, 2nd January, 2020.

This is the opening match in the tournament’s second leg.

Al Wakrah are ninth in the standings with 12 points (three wins, as many draws and five defeats). The Blue Wave have a goal difference of -4 (16 goals for and 20 against).

Promoted side Al Wakrah will be keen to garner as many points as possible, so they can earn a respectable finish on their return to the top flight after two seasons.

Al Sadd occupy the fourth position with 18 points and two matches in hand as their games against Al Arabi (from Week 5) and Al Khor (from Week 7) were deferred due to their AFC Champions League engagements.

Al Sadd have been scheduled to play Al Arabi on 6th January and Al Khor on 21st January.

The Wolves have six wins under their belt. They lost the other three games and have a goal difference of +9 (26 goals for and 17 against).

Both teams will have some absentees who are doing duty for Qatar in the AFC Under-23 Championship, to be held in Thailand from 8th to 26th January, 2020. It is also the qualification tournament for next summer’s Tokyo Olympics.

Al Sadd had beaten Al Wakrah 4-1 in the first leg.
