The QNB Stars League’s Week 11 games will be played over Friday, 2nd November, Saturday, 3rd November, and Sunday, 4th November, with two matches on each day.
The fixtures are Al Gharafa vs Al Shahania (17:15) at Al Gharafa Stadium and Umm Salal vs Al Sadd (19:25) at Al Gharafa Stadium on Friday, Qatar SC vs Al Rayyan (17:15) at Qatar SC Stadium and Al Khor vs Al Ahli (19:25) at Al Khor Stadium on Saturday, and Al Duhail vs Al Arabi (17:15) at Al Duhail Stadium and Al Kharaitiyat vs Al Sailiya (19:25) at Al Khor Stadium on Sunday.
The 2018-19 season QNB Stars League will be halfway through after this round, so the teams will be keen to end the first leg on an impressive note.
Before the Week 11 games, Al Sailiya face a tough task when they face holders and leaders Al Duhail in their QNB Stars League match on Tuesday, 30th October. The kick-off is at 19:25 at the Al Ahli Stadium.
This is a held-over fixture from Week 5. It had to be rescheduled due to the clash of dates as Al Duhail had AFC Champions League commitment.
In Week 11, in-form Al Gharafa face Al Shahania, who are also in good nick of late, in the lung opener.
Al Gharafa were back on winning path by registering the biggest-margin victory (6-0) over Al Khor last week. Dutch star Wesley Sneijder returned from an injury layoff and even scored a goal in the win.
Slovakian midfielder Vladimir Weiss also scored a goal and Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi contributed a brace to the big victory and both are in great form too.
That makes Al Shahania’s task harder even though they had positive results in the last two rounds, drawing with Umm Salal and beating Al Sailiya.
It will be followed by Umm Salal vs Al Sadd clash.
Al Sadd crashed to their first defeat in this season’s competition by going down to Al Ahli and they cannot afford more slip-ups if they are to be in contention for the title.
On the other hand, Umm Salal dropped points in their last three matches, with one defeat and two draws, so they cannot afford to keep getting negative results if they have to finish in the top four.
Both Qatar SC and Al Rayyan are coming off victories, against Al Arabi and Al Sailiya respectively. The contest is sure to be exciting.
Al Khor and Al Ahli go into their face-off in contrasting background.
Al Khor lost big time to Al Gharafa while Al Ahli made it big against Al Sadd in the last round.
It has to be seen whether Al Arabi would be able to inflict the first defeat on Al Duhail, while Al Kharaitiyat have much at stake when take on Al Sailiya.
