The QNB Stars League’s Week 10 matches will be played on Thursday, 25th October, Friday, 26th October, and Saturday, 27th October, with two games each day.
The fixtures are Al Duhail vs Al Kharaitiyat (17:20) at Al Duhail Stadium and Al Sailiya vs Al Rayyan (19:30) at Al Ahli Stadium on Thursday, Al Arabi vs Qatar SC (17:20) at Al Arabi Stadium and Al Gharafa vs Al Khor (19:30) at Al Gharafa Stadium on Friday, and Al Ahli vs Al Sadd (17:20) at Al Ahli Stadium and Al Shahania vs Umm Salal (19:30) at Al Arabi Stadium on Saturday.
The first five positions had not changed after the Week 9 action.
Al Duhail and Al Sadd occupy the first and second position in the standings respectively with 19 and 17 points, followed by Al Sailiya (16), Al Rayyan (15) and Umm Salal (13) in that order.
Champions Al Duhail will open the action by facing Al Kharaitiyat. Al Duhail are table toppers as well even though they have played only seven matches because of AFC Champions League commitments by them and Al Sadd.
Al Sadd and Al Duhail were not seen in action as the marquee clash between them was rescheduled for 11th December in view of Al Sadd’s AFC Champions League second-leg semifinal against Iran’s Persepolis.
In fact, both Al Sadd and Al Duhail have played two games less as their matches from Week 5 had also been rescheduled due to their clashes with the dates of AFC Champions League fixtures.
As for Al Kharaitiyat, they are facing relegation this season too, so they must be desperate to bag some points before the QNB Stars League reaches the halfway mark.
The Al Duhail vs Al Kharaitiyat game will be followed by the highly-anticipated match between Al Sailiya and Al Rayyan.
Only one point separates Al Sailiya and Al Rayyan. The Peregrines, who had lost to Al Shahania in the previous round, will not want more slip-ups if they are to stay in the top four.
The face-off between Al Arabi and Qatar SC on Friday will also be a crowd-puller.
Al Arabi have lost three matches on the trot, while Qatar SC are 11th with eight points and badly need some positive results to move away from danger zone.
Al Gharafa host Al Khor in the day’s second encounter.
Saturday’s first match will see Al Ahli play host to Al Sadd, followed by the Al Shahania vs Umm Salal game.
Al Ahli are on a hat-trick of wins, having beaten Al Shahania and Al Arabi, while Al Sadd do not want to drop points in their title bid.
