Al Duhail and Al Kharaitiyat will open the 10th week’s action of the QNB Stars League on Thursday, 25th October. The kick-off is at 17:20 at the Al Duhail Stadium.
Al Duhail are leading the standings with 19 points and have played only seven games due to AFC Champions League commitments by them and also Al Sadd.
The Red Knights’ Week 5 match against Al Sailiya has been rescheduled for 30th October, while their Week 9 big clash with second-placed Al Sadd will now be played on 11th December.
Al Duhail and Al Sadd are the only unbeaten sides in the tournament. Al Duhail have six wins and a draw to their credit. They have a goal difference of +15, having scored 20 goals and conceded five.
Al Duhail defeated Umm Salal 2-0 in their last league game in Week 8.
On the other hand, Al Kharaitiyat are last in the table with only three points that they earned from their upset victory over Al Gharafa in Week 7.
The Thunders, who have scored only seven goals while conceding 22, will be desperate for some victories if they are to avoid relegation.
Al Kharaitiyat were in similar situation last season as well. But they managed to stay in the first division by beating second division runners-up Al Wakrah in relegation play-off.
Tunisian Nabil Maaloul-coached Al Duhail, who defeated the Myanmar national team 2-1 during the break, are in full strength. They mainly have the services of players like Almoez Ali, Nam Tae-Hee, Bassam Al Rawi and Yousef El Arabi.
Al Kharaitiyat, who suffered a big 1-5 defeat at the hands of Al Khor last week, will mainly rely on Anwar Diba, Jugurtha Hamroun, Abdulhadi Amin and Mohammed Abdulrub.
