The race to become the 2019-20 QNB Stars League’s top scorer intensified after Week 8 action, which saw a total of 14 goals being scored across six matches.

Baghdad Bounedjah scored Al Sadd’s both goals, including a penalty, in their 2-1 win over Al Ahli to take his tally to eight goals. It may be noted that the Algerian striker has so far featured only in five matches for Al Sadd, who have two deferred games (against Al Arabi and Al Khor due to their AFC Champions League engagements).

Bounedjah had not played in Al Sadd’s fixture against Al Wakrah in the opening round.
